came up 5 seconds short of a PR yesterday. where'd i lose? maybe at the last two water stations that i walked through. or the two walk breaks where i counted to 30 in my head at mile 12. or when i slowed for the father who brought his toddler onto the course...here are the splits:
Mile 1 0:08:10
Mile 2 0:07:45
Mile 3 0:07:34
Mile 4 0:07:50
Mile 5 0:07:55
Mile 6 0:08:06
Mile 7 0:08:18
Mile 8 0:08:22
Mile 9 0:08:27
Mile 10 0:09:07
Mile 11 0:09:00
Mile 12 0:10:21
Mile 13 0:09:07
13.1 0:00:46
Total 1:50:49
i gave up the PR in the last 4 miles. i wasn't tired. i wasn't achy or winded. my mind just shut down when it saw the seeemingly endless circus of loops and i wasn't ever really able to restart it.
to put it in perspective, however, i came 5 seconds shy of a personal best. i did that with approximately half the mileage on my legs and only 2 runs of 10 miles or greater during this training as compared to the Carlsbad, where I was running 25-30 miles/week and had at least 5-6 long runs of 10 or more.
overall, pretty happy w/ the result. not happy w/ the fact that jason was hating on me and didn't take any pictures!
